The WL-D805 3G serial Modem (also called DTU) can look similar to the common Modems / terminals. Wlink serial to 3G IP modem is a kind of cellular terminal device that provides data transfer function by by mobile EVDO 3G network.It adopts high powered industrial 16/32 bits CPU and embedded 

real time operating system.The cellular gateway has additional processing capability and built-in software which allows them to operate autonomously as self-managing communications devices.

 

It supports RS232 and RS485 (or RS422) port that can conveniently and transparently connect one device 

to a cellular network, allowing you to connect to your existing serial devices with only basic configuration.
Once configured, WLINK DTU provide ‘IP’ or internet communications for other devices which have limited or no built-in capability to manage a modem.
